Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been the most popular face of Indian cinema worldwide. In a poll that was conducted by UK's Hello magazine, the actress was voted the top listed in the list of "The most attractive woman of 2003" In the same year, the diva appeared in Rolling Stone magazine's annual "Hot List”. In 2004 she was chosen by Time magazine as one of the World's "100 Most Influential People"In October 2004 a wax figure of Aishwarya Rai was put on display in London's Madame Tussaud's wax museum. The actress was also chosen as the sixth Indian and the second Bollywood personality after Amitabh Bachchan to get this honour.
In 2005, Aishwarya was the subject of a 60 Minutes profile which quoted that at least according to thousands of websites, internet votes and even Julia Roberts, she was considered as the world's most beautiful woman". In 2005 again she became a global brand ambassador of L'Oreal alongside Andie Macdowell, Eva Longoria and Penelope Cruz. The same year, again a special tulip in the Netherlands was named "Aishwarya Rai" after her. Also it was in 2005 that Mattel released a limited edition of Barbie dolls of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the United Kingdom.
The Bachchan bahu appeared on shows like Late Show with David Letterman, and was the first Bollywood celebrity to appear on Oprah's "Women Across the Globe" segment. Than in September 2006, the UK magazine named ‘Eastern Eye’ ranked her third in the list of "Asia's Sexiest Women". The year 2007 saw the actress as the first Indian celebrity to have her wax model displayed at Madame Tussauds Museum in historic Time Square in New York In 2010 she appeared for the second time in Time Magazine’s list of "100 Most Influential People in the World". In 2011, the bold and the beautiful actress attended the 83rd Academy Awards along with her husband Abhishek Bachchan.
