Ashwarya immortalized in wax in 2004

The loincloth-clad icon of independence, Mahatma Gandhi, Bollywood greatest actor of millennium Amitabh Bachchan and then Bollywood goddess Aishwarya Rai. With this she became the first Hindi bollywood actress to have a wax replica of herself at Madame Tussauds. The temperature was rising inside Madame Tussauds as two Aishwariyas stood eloquently side by side.But the trouble was finding who was the real one among them. Ash was immortalized in wax in 2004 and herself unveiled her life size wax idol.

One of the leading ladies of the Hindi film industry, Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, burst into the limelight in the year 1994 when she wonthe coveted Miss World Title. She has often been touted as the most beautiful women under the sun. She grabbed eyeballs with her movie, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Her performance in the film won her the Filmfare Best Actress Award.She enjoys the iconic status for her zillion fans who are spread across on both sides of the Pacific. They come from different walks of life and have been role-models for their fans. The wax museum was to cash in on a craze for the Indian film genre now.

The release of the idol was timed with the release of her film, Bride And Prejudice, directed by the London-based Gurindher Chadha. When her sari-clad image was unveiled, Ash was accompanied by her mother Vrinda Rai and Chadha. With this, Aishwarya Rai definitely arrived on the international platform. Earlier, she has graced the covers of Time, Hello! and UK-based Bollystan. Also she topped the Top 50 list of South Asian talent, from around the globe.
