No no we are not talking about the lovebirds seen in any garden in every corner of a colony. This time the Jr. Bachchan and love of his life Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were approached by PETA ( People for Ethical Treatment of Animals). This is not the first time that bollywood stars were being approached by this institution to save animals and work for their welfare.
Shilpa Shetty was the first film star to get associated with PETA and work to improve the conditions of animals. It was followed by John Abraham and now its time for Abhishek Bachchan and his better half to come together with PETA in order to save the lovebirds.
PETA has made it a punshiable offence to keep a bird into a cage. The charge comes under Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960. Even though the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species restricts the trade of foreign birds, a black market involving 300 of the country's estimated 1,200 species of birds thrives openly in many places. Lovebirds are the most commonly sold birds.
If the news is to be belived, ABHI-ASH are seen as the most famous "lovebirds" in India and that is why they are belived to be uniquely suited to join hands with Peta in order to save the birds and animals and to help bring attention to the plight of these smart and sensitive animals.
The news is that once the bachchan's will say yes to come along, a photoshoot will be arranged by the PETA authorities for an ad titled as "Love Birds In The Cage" to raise awarreness of this issue.
