Aishwarya and Abhishek to perform Tandav dance

Mani Ratnam’s upcoming flick Raavan will see some different dance steps from Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Both of them will be seen doing some Tandav steps. To get the steps right, both are practicing under the guidance of an ace choreographer Astad Deboo, recipient of Padma Shri.




Mani Ratnam wants the Tandav Nritya to be an amalgamation of Kathak, Ballet and contemporary dance. Astad made Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to dance Tandav of passion, retribution and redemption.

As Aishwarya has got huge talent in dancing, she is picking up the steps very fast and practicing rigorously barefoot on an uneven surface while Abhi who takes double the time to bring full perfection is also practicing dedicatedly but ends up with devastating result.

For Amitabh Bachchan's clan it is powerful time as while Pa-in-law was declared the India's Most Powerful Actor, bahu Aishwarya Rai topped the actress's Power List.

According to a survey conducted by Percept Talent Management and Hansa Research through CelebTrackTM -- a research wave on celebrities -- Ash, who was conferred the Padma Shri recently, made it to top-notch place.

Aishwarya Rai bestowed with Padma Award

The Padma Shri awardees include former miss world Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, dashing hero Akshay Kumar and comedy king Kanneganti Brahmanandam, playback singer Kumar Sanu.

The awards were presented at a special investiture ceremony at Ashoka Hall, attended by Vice-President M.Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, Home Minister P. Chidambaram and other ministers.

Padma Vibhushan, the country’s second highest civilian award was presented to six notable personalities, while 16 received the Padma Bhushan and 45 the Padma Shri.


Famous playback singer of yesteryear Shamshad Begum was also given Padma Vibhushan from President Pratibha Patil on Monday at a special function in the Ashoka Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Abhishek is Ash’s precedence

Abhishek Bachchan precedes for wife Ashwairya Rai and not Will smith or any of her projects. Abhishek is Ash’s precedence. Ash declared so while talking to the journalists at the set of Maniratnam's movie Ravana near Kolkata.

She was asked whether she would be working with Will Smith or not in the next coming Hollywood flick. Ash told that Abhishek is my first priority and Smith would come after Abhishek only.

In the mean time, everyone is talking about Pink Panther-2. The movie apart, 2009 has begun on a good note for Ash. She made it to the Top 50 Most Desirable Woman in the World list in an international online poll and was honoured with the Padma Shri back home, both of which she credits to her fans support.

She don’t have a role-length-fetish as she never worked with stardust in her eyes. When asked about it, Ash claimed it was really a fun part to work with the Pink Panther 2 team. Each of the actors — right from Jean Reno to Andy Garcia and including herself — knew that it’s a Steve Martin film. So it is extremely silly and exhausting to talk about the length of the role.

Ash is in Kolkata with her hubby Abhishek Bachchan to shoot “Ravana.” This film would be released in the second half of this year. Replying to the questions of journalists about her role in the movie Ash revealed that she don’t play Sita, but a role similar to hers in a modern day Ramayana.

Not only this, Ash is working with her hubby in other two movies. Rajiv Menon’s ‘Dhun’ which is based completely on music and Farhan Akhtar's next untitled venture. Critics say that it would be similar to Abhiman, where Jaya and Amitabh worked, but the actress has refused to comment on the movie. “Let’s see what’s in the movie,” said Ash.
