2010 for Aishwarya

Endhiran, starring Rajnikanth and Aishwarya is said to be made at a budget of Rs.125 crore, approx Rs. 45 crore has been spent on Mani Ratnam’s much-awaited film Raavanaa, which is set for a June release.



Vipul Shah’s Action Replay costs around Rs.60 crore and if reports are to be believed, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish for which Aishwarya Rai is currently shooting along with Hrithik Roshan in Mumbai.

Aishwarya has been busy shooting all these movies for the past one year and even suffered health problems due to her hectic schedules.

While shooting for upcoming flick Ravana in the forests of Kerala, the whole cast and crew had a scary experience when an elephant ran and killed a 51-year-old mahout, Andavan.

The stars including Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Vikram, Prabhu Deva and Munna had to take shelter in a guesthouse and survived on bread and eggs.

Apart from the movie Ravana, Aishwarya’s role in Endhiran has been a secret till now. Her another film Action Replay, opposite Akshay Kumar, is a time-travel story in the 1950s and is based on an eponymous 1994 Gujarati play.

In Guzaarish, Aishwarya will play a married nurse who falls in love with a paraplegic patient essayed by Hrithik Roshan. So which one of these roles strikes gold at the box office, time will tell us.

Aishwarya and Abhishek to perform Tandav dance

Mani Ratnam’s upcoming flick Raavan will see some different dance steps from Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Both of them will be seen doing some Tandav steps. To get the steps right, both are practicing under the guidance of an ace choreographer Astad Deboo, recipient of Padma Shri.



Mani Ratnam wants the Tandav Nritya to be an amalgamation of Kathak, Ballet and contemporary dance. Astad made Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to dance Tandav of passion, retribution and redemption.

As Aishwarya has got huge talent in dancing, she is picking up the steps very fast and practicing rigorously barefoot on an uneven surface while Abhi who takes double the time to bring full perfection is also practicing dedicatedly but ends up with devastating result.

Aishwarya Rai feels 'at home' in Jalsa

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan have ended rumours that they are moving from their family base in Jalsa to a new home in Bandra. There is a happy and positive air about Jalsa. No one is going anywhere.

Rai told that the pair are at "home in Jalsa" and laughed off talk of moving, questioning the sources of gossip about the high-profile married couple.

Aishwarya Rai married fellow Bollywood actor Bachchan in April 2007 and have since become known as 'Abhiash' - an amalgamation of both their names.

Abhishek Bachchan would never leave his family home. And Aishwarya would never let him. She knows what family means, especially after her father’s illness when Abhishek stood by his in-laws like a son.Aishwarya has lined up quite a few films for 2009. Among them is the English film, The Pink Panther 2 with Steve Martin, the Hindi film Ravana and the Tamil film Endhiran.

Ashwairya hiding age with Make-up

Ravana's director Mani Ratnam asked Aishwarya to put no make-up for her look in the second half of the film. But Mrs Jr Bachchan refused to do so. The no make-up look was in accordance to the demand of the story, wherein, Abhishek’s character abducts her and Ash`s character undergoes a major transformation.



Mani wished to showcase her character without make-up in the second half. He believes that since she`s separated from her husband, the raw look is important to express the loss and pain she`s going through.

But what the Bachchan bahu would do is to sneak-out and return with basic make-up. "There were times when Ash would sneak and put basic make-up and only then, do the shot. Mani would spot the slightest sliver of make-up and would ask her to go back and remove it," said the source.



The source further said that neither Aishwarya nor Mani Ratnam would back out on this issue. Aishwarya believed that basic make-up will not make much of a difference but Mani Ratnam did not agree.

For gorgeous, effervescent beauty like Aishwarya Rai, this would have been not much of a problem but she is becoming insecure with age and time. Few years back, the lady ruled supremely and was admired for her flawless beauty. But now she needs her powder and rouge to look beautiful.


Apparently, Aishwarya does not want to appear onscreen without make-up as more than her acting skills, her age would show.

Ash starrer ‘Endhiran’ could be deferred

Ashwairya Rai Bachchan starrer Kollywood film Endhiran is in later stages of its shoot.But it seems that there is no end to problems facing its completion. Earlier, recession had hit its song shoot and now there is more that is troubling shooting completion. Endhiran shooting came to a standstill because of Aishwarya Rai until recently and then stunt director Peter Hein met with a serious accident.

Consequently, Ash starrer Endhiran and Ravana may get deferred indefinitely.
Aishwarya Rai, who is currently busy with directorial venture of Manirathinam in Cochin, delayed the Shankar’s Endhiran shoot on the scheduled dates. Shankar wanted to shoot a song sequence in Kulu Manali. So accordingly, Shankar had requested Aishwarya to spare him 10 days from 14th of this month.She expressed her inability to do so and in view of that, Shankar has been shooting some scenes featuring Rajnikanth alone in Chennai.

Then, the accident of noted Hollywood stunt director Peter Hein has thrown Endhiran – out of gear. Mr. Hein was involved in an accident while doing a stunt sequence for a Telugu film, Magadheera, which has Ram Charan Teja, son of Chiranjeevi in the lead. Peter Hein had been in the critical care unit in the Apollo Hospitals since February 18th nursing 19 fractures. Most of the fractures have been on the face, eleven to be precise.

Peter Hein has been signed up to do the stunt sequences in Mani Ratnam’s Ravan and the Shankar-directed Rajini-starrer Endhiran. With this accident, looks like both these projects could be delayed.There is also news that a fight sequence will be the highlight of the film. Not one of those scenes with Danny and Rajini, but with two Rajinis. As is known, Rajini plays dual role in the movie of that of a
scientist and a Robot, developed by the scientist. The action hair-strand-raising sequences were filmed recently with stunt director
Peter Hein choreographing the scenes. The fight is said to happen inside an enclosed glass cabinet. That certainly derives inspiration from Kamal Hassan's movie Dasavatharam. One such two-some fight sequence of Kamal (Christian Fletcher) and Kamal (Shingenn Narahashi) in it evoked a stupendous response.

While recent news suggest, that the film – Endhiran, is about a college professor cum scientist (played by Rajnikanth) who’s an expert in churning out Robot. As per the Government requests, he produces many Robots for the good cause. Famous actor ‘Danny Denzongpa’ who is playing villain in Endhiran approaches Rajnikanth to produce a Robot that has more resistance towards strong blows and hits. Rajnikanth successfully accomplishes through and the output is none other than ‘Rajnikanth’ himself.

Robotic Rajnikanth now sets out romantically on Aishwarya Rai Bacchan, who’s a college student as well, lady love of the scientist. As the Robot goes dashed down with the hopes when Ash runs away from its romantic torture, things are different now. The Robot turns wilder in nature and go more obedient to Baddie Danny’s instructions. How the scientist tames it down, taking the villain into task, forms crux of the story.

Ashwairya Rai – A.R. Rahman aficianado!!!

The double-Oscar winner A. R. Rahman is a master musician, had made India proud and had composed music for maximum of her films.
Yes, we are talking about Bollywood actor and former beauty queen Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Ash is all praises for Rehmaan. She admits that working with Rahman has been an absolute pleasure. The journey has been long and the two had started off their careers at almost the same time. It’s not just from Taal to Guru, but it’s from ‘Iruvar’ till ‘Ravana’.

In fact, maximum of Ash’s films have enjoyed the music of Rahman and as a music lover and fan, she had always admired his music and thinks she is a gifted musician. Rai was expressing her views while addressing a press conference in Kolkata. The Bollywood actress, who was in Kolkata for the shooting of her upcoming flick ‘Ravana’, said she was elated at Rehman’s double win at the Oscars for ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.

Rai added, though Rahman was very much celebrated in India but winning Oscar meant the global recognition, which was indeed special. Rai also shared her experiences of working with actor Steve Martin in her latest Hollywood flick ‘The Pink Panther 2′. Rai said, “Working with Steve Martin was a good experience since he is the institution of comedy. We grew up watching his movie. So when it came to working with him she thought privileged and very happy to have got a chance to work with all these great actors.
She found her character in ‘Ravana’ quite challenging too.She is cast opposite to hubby Abhishek in this Mani Ratnam flick.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Sita in Mani Ratnam's Ravana!!!

The beauty that won a million hearts with her acting skills in various character roles is all set to make an impact once again. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be seen playing Goddess Sita in Mani Ratnam's upcoming film 'Ravana'.

THE BACHCHAN Bahu and winner of the Padmashri Award, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, seems all set to play her part as Sita like a perfectionist in Mani Ratnam's forthcoming film, Ravana. Ash has been cast opposite her dear hubby, Abhishek Bachchan, in the film.

Those who saw her during the shooting of this film on the banks of the river 'Hoogly' in Kolkata, said that the actress truly looked like the modern version of Goddess Sita in her maroon sari with a black sleeveless top and hardly any ornaments to adorn her. Ash's Sita look has been created by noted designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

Earlier, Ash has been seen in various different kinds of roles and has done full justice to them. All of Ash's fans out there are sure that she will portray a remarkable role, equally remarkably this time around in Ravana too. While her look in the movie is certainly something to watch out for, let's hope her acting is likewise and that she does not disappoint.

Next she will begin shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj's untitled forthcoming film by the end of the year. She may also in period flick Rani Laxmibai after Sushmita Sen shelved the same as her directorial vehicle.

Ash In Kolkata to Shoot For "Ravana"

In the recent time, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been traveling to manycities across the world to promote her Hollywood film Pink Panther 2 .





But now she's headed homeward and is bound for Kolkata to join the shoot of Mani Ratnam's film Ravana .Ravana casts the real life couple as Ram Sita.What's more is that Govinda has stepped into the shoes of Hanuman.The film is made under Ratnam's banner Madras Talkies and will be produced by his sister Sharda. Incidentally Vikram, who is playing Ravan in the film had played Ram in the Tamil version.





The movie would reportedly be shot at Vedic Village in the Rajarhat area that's just in the suburbs of Kolkata. It is learnt that the shooting location was suggested by the film's designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee and art director Samir Chanda. Abhishek is presently busy promoting his next release Delhi 6 and will join Ash in Kolkata only after the film's release on February 20.

The shooting will continue till March beginning. Mani will reportedly shoot the film's climax in this schedule.
