Her recent Diwali release, Action Replayy, may not have impressed the audiences for sue, but Aishwarya Rai Bachchan doesn’t bother. Aishwarya Rai thanked producer-director Vipul Shah saying that she thoroughly enjoyed playing the character of Mala. Aishwarya have never played such a character before.


She was so much moved about reliving the period in which her parents-in-law started working together and she feels really honoured to be a part of this flick... To portray realistically the 1970s, the era in which the movie is made, Akshay Kumar admitted that he had changed his looks on a character played by late actor Sunil Dutt. Quite surprisingly, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s favourite 1970s icons are her parents-in-law Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan.

Aishwarya mentioned that both Big B and Jaya Bachchan look great together, always. On the other side, the actress is extremely happy for her hubby, Abhishek Bachcahn, who beat her in the rapid fire round on season 3 of Koffee With Karan.

The former Miss World, Aishwarya rai Bachchan has been setting her own trends since the start of her career in Bollywood film industry. The film-maker said that his cool romantic comedy film, set in 1970s offered him scope to dress his leading actress in a variety of styles. The famous flawless fashion designer Manish Malhotra spended months studying the various retro or you can address as contemporary designs to give Aishwarya the perfect look for the various situations in Action Replayy. Other than Action Replayy, Aishwarya also has Guzzarish on her list that will also feature Hrithik Roshan playing the lead role…

Aishwarya impresses Vipul Shah

In his quite successful career so far, filmmaker Vipul Shah has worked with former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen in the flick Aankhein, and also with former Miss World Priyanka Chopra in Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar starrer film Waqt. Vipul Shah has also worked with Katrina Kaif in Namastey London.

Now in the upcoming film Action Replayy which will be released on November 5, the filmmaker has worked with yet another gorgeous Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai… Vipul Shah mentioned that Aishwarya Rai and Akshay Kumar on-screen chemistry turn out to be so great for this love story.

Aishwarya unable to promote Action Replayy

The former Miss World who has given successful films in her acting career and have won the Filmfare Best Actress Award too, Aishwarya Rai recently marked her absence at the promotional campaign for her upcoming flick Action Replayy, which is scheduled for release this Diwali, on November 5, 2010.

According to the reports, only her co-star Akshay Kumar is seen trying to promote the movie in every possible way. The film is directed by Vipul Shah.

We couldn’t understand that what’s coming in between Aishwarya Rai Bachchan that is stopping her from making an appearance at the promotional event of the film.

We can just guess it that might be the actress have a busy schedule these days and that’s why she’s unable to take out any time to promote the movie. You can see the flawless beauty in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next Guzaarish opposite the Greek God Hrithik Roshan.

Aish-Akki zoom back into 70’s

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Akshay Kumar shall occupy theatres this Diwali by zooming back into the 1970s. Want to know how, just read on- Alongwith Aishwarya Rai and Akki, Randhir Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, Kirron Kher, Om Puri, Rajpal Yadav will also play pivotal roles in the movie.


The film is directed by Vipul Shah. Now, lets peep inside the storyline. Action Replay is the story that revolves around time travel set in the present day Mumbai. The movie basically tells the tale of an elderly man who rewinds his whole life, and straight away goes into the life of 1970s with the help of a time turner. The man wishes to relive his youthful days once again.

Akshay Kumar will be seen in long, hippie style hair and cites that yesteryear actor Sunil Dutt is his inspiration behind his retro look. Akshay will also be seen in cuffed shirts with long collars evocative of those days. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan shall be seen in wavy, long tresses and flowing skirts. The new Dimple Rishi

Vipul Shah’s directed film Action Replay will showcase actor Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai romancing with each other. The buzz is that both the stars are shooting a song dedicated to veteran stars of the 1970’s including names like Rajesh Khanna, Mumtaz, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bhaduri, Dharmendra and Hema Malini jodi.


Vipul Shah also included all time favourite on screen jodi Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia. The director wants to shoot the song in the locales of Gulmarg.

The former beauty queen will be portraying an old lady in certain sequences and according to the sources Aishwarya Rai Bachchan spends over four to five hours in make-up to get the perfect look for the role.

Expert Hollywood make-up artists have been hired by the director to prepare Aishwarya Rai for the role. While Christien Tinsley and Dominie Till designed Amitabh's Auro, Aishwarya is being worked on by Paul Pattison, whose previous projects include Mel Gibson's Braveheart.

Aishwarya Rai to play an old woman

Former Miss World 1994 Aishwarya Rai, in the showbiz-world took India to new heights, appearing in international events like Cannes and playing a guest in the sitcom ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’.

The last and only time that Akshay Kumar and Ashwairya Rai have worked together was in Rajkumar Santoshi’s hard-hitting Khakee which did fairly well at the box-office. One will have to wait and watch if the duo can do an ‘action replay’ of their past success this time around. Vipul Shah is currently busy wrapping up his ambitious project London Dreams, but that hasn’t deterred him from announcing his next film.

Vipul’s next will star Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles. Though there were rumors earlier that the film is titled Action Replay, Vipul is yet to confirm the final title. While Akshay Kumar has been a favorite with Vipul Shah (Waqt-A Race Against Time , Aankhen, Namastey London, Singh Is Kinng) this is the first time that the filmmaker would be working with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

The film will also star Randhir Kapoor who would be seen on the silver screen after a hiatus of 6 years ( Armaan in 2001). Randhir apparently plays a scientist in this time-travel tale. The movie’s shooting is expected to begin this month and it might release by the end of 2009. Akshay and Shah have already worked together in a number of films, but a concept as unique as ‘Action Replay’ is the first time they are venturing into unexplored avenues.
