Aish to sizzle at Star Screen Awards 2011

Bollywood Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had almost stopped performing at award functions since 2007, but it seems the beautiful lass is now planning to perform at stage. The dazzling actress pulled out all the stops for her live performance at the 17th Annual Star Screen Awards 2011.


Aishwarya Rai performed to some of her smashing dance numbers at the first award function of Bollywood in 2011. Salman Khan was also present at the event. Vivek Oberoi with wife Priyanka and mother came to the award function. Shahrukh Khan, Karan Johar, Rekha and Priyanka Chopra too graced the award function.

Aish’s charm fading away

Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor may have become famous amongst the masses but for some reason Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is being turned-down by the people. There is infact no question mark to Aishwarya Rai’s credits. Aishwarya’s acting is unmatchable, her beauty flawless.


Still the craze that once followed Aishwarya Rai has reached to it’s end for sometime now. Earlier, her name was enough to draw attraction into the theatres but now that charm is not working I suppose. This year alone, three of her Bollywood movies bombed at the box office. Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai starrer Raavan failed to impress the audience though it was a film differently made. Than came Action Replayy which was released on Diwali but still the people didn’t liked the film. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directed Guzaarish was beautifully made but it was another downfall in the actress’s career.

If we talk about Endhiran or Robot starring ace veteran film actor Rajinikanth opposite Aish may have been a mega hit but the movie badly failed at the box office. So, is Aishwarya Rai finally ageing !! Or is her post-marriage is the reason behind?? Or Katrina and Piggy Chops have gathered more attention…

Aish might feature in Arundhati

Needless to mention that Anushka starrer Arundhati, was a superhit flick in Andhra Pradesh. The movie’s dubbed version in Tamil and Malayalam were successes too. Anushka till then was very well known for enacting glamorous characters . It was with this film, that the actress laid down serious claim to the number one position in Telugu film fraternity.. The latest buzz is that Gemini Film Circuit is now planning to remake the film in Hindi version.


It is learnt that for the role of 'Arundhati' many actresses have been approached till yet including Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif. But the makers of the film wish to cast Aishwarya Rai for the lead role. The film in all aspects have the potential to give a turning point to the career of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who hasn't enjoyed considerable commercial successes in past. Watch out the sizzling Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai’s chemistry in their upcoming flick Guzaarish that is all set to release on November 19, 2010.

Aish to host a TV show

It’s not always that people get to see Bollywood actress anchoring a television show. But it seems like Bollywood fames are now getting interested in small screens too. So after Priyanka Chopra in ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ now one more Bollywood sizzling babe is going to step into anchor’s shoe on TV. And it’s none other than Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

It has been heard that Aishwarya Rai can be captured on a television show. The actress is all set to host it but her busy schedule is becoming a hurdle. The Bachchan's laadli bahu is at the moment busy with the back to back release of her movies Vipul Shah’s ‘Action Replayy’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Guzaarish’. I am just wondering how Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will face the small screen hosting a show on television!!!

It's all for Manish Malhotra

The most famous fashion designer Manish Malhotra has roped in the most sensational actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as his showstopper at the HDIL India Couture Week next month. Manish Malhotra's show will mark the opening of the fashion extravaganza, at 8 pm on October 6 at the Grand Hyatt.

Manish Malhotra even tweeted that, “Beautiful Aishwarya is going to be the show stopper at my couture week show.” He added that emrald and green is the main colour of his collections in the Couture Fashion week. Manish also told that this would be 55 out-fit couture show with 55 models adorning one look each and Aishwarya Rai will be seen at the end of the show as a contemporary bride.

It has been reported that last week the flawless designer showcased his spectacular collection at the Lakhme Fashion Week. Bollywood actresses like Rani Mukherjee, Priyanka Chopra, Urmila Matondkar, Preity Zinta and Ameesha Patel were present in the fashion show to cheer Manish.

Aishwarya another tantrum queen

Few weeks ago, Priyanka Chpora reportedly drove designers on her tip with her costume demands. Now it's Aishwarya Rai's turn to throw starry tantrums. Some designer had made a skin tight outfit for Aishwarya Rai. The dress was tight and one of the designer’s female assistant was trying to pull out the tight garment over Aishwarya, but she stood straight and refused to help.


Though when Aishwarya walked the ramp, she was looking stunning, but the designers had to go through all the tantrums. The tantrum queen will be next seen in Guzaarish, Raavan, Endhiran and action Replay.

Aishwarya's beauty is all God-gifted

Often been termed as ‘plastic’ by some, there is no question of doubt that Aishwarya Rai’s beauty is all natural. It has been claimed that Aishwarya Rai is the only actress in Bollywood who has got perfect features. Priyanka Chopra once commented that God was on a holiday when he made Aishwarya. This complement itself speaks stories about the beauty of this gorgeous and glamorous woman who is now married to actor Abhishek Bachchan.


Aishwarya can be a perfect example for all other actresses that how can the natural beauty look so stunning, even without make-up. Upcoming flicks of the actress are Action Replay, Guzaarish and Raavan.

Aishwarya in bad health

Lot of people are out of work these days. But it's nothing to do with the recession. Currently a whole lot of actors are down and out due to the weather. In Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's case, it seems she put her health at risk while shooting for Mani Ratnam's Raavan in Cochin, where it's been pouring heavily.

Although Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was down with high fever and was prescribed doses of multi-vitamins and paracetamol, she insisted on carrying on shooting despite the director asking her to take rest.

The Cochin schedule has been a gruelling one for her as all the scenes require her to be drenched. Aishwarya was also shooting simultaneously for the Tamil and Hindi version.

Thus, the time of staying wet for her role was incredibly long she had to sometimes wear the wet outfits for over 10 hours. The last few days have been incredibly bad for her health and she's now on medication.

The reason that why the actress wanted to finish her work quickly was that she had to dash back for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Guzaarish that also has Hrithik Roshan in it. She also doesn't want Mani to undergo any losses.

Shahid Kapur, on the other hand, has missed his shoot since last Tuesday because of high fever.

What's interesting to note is that around the same time, Priyanka Chopra also fell ill with viral flu. Now, could this be a case of getting too close for comfort? Deepika Padukone who was shooting for Housefull has been diagnosed with malaria.

Well we wish that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan would get well soon...

The King and Bachchan Bahu "Stars Of The Decade"

Superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were honoured with the "Actors Of The Decade Award" at the IIFA Awards held recently.

This very well known beauty got two honorary awards for her work in Indian and international cinema, while the King was honoured for his work in Bollywood.
Aishwarys Rai Bachchan gave a wonderful dance performance at the event and she actually set the stage on fire.
Unfortunately the King couldn't make it to the event as he was busy shooting for his upcoming flick "My Name Is Khan"

This 43 year old actor who began his career as a fauji had a tough competition from other actors like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Big B , Akshay Kumar
While Aishwarya won the ‘Golden Decade’ award for her memorable performances in the past 10 years, beating off competition from Rani Mukherjee, Preity Zinta, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.

Jaya thinks Aishwairya deserved an Award!

A lot has been said and written about Ashutosh Gowariker’s outburst against Priyanka Chopra’s best actress award at the IIFA in Macau.

While most sections of the industry have come forward to deride Ashu for what they see as his childish and impulsive outburst, the one aspect of his criticism against the IIFA jury awarding Priyanka and not Aishwarya Rai Bachchan the award that has raised the most eyebrows
is his mention of Mrs Bachchan on stage to endorse and substantiate his public objection to Priyanka’s trophy.

Surprisingly, the ever-forthright first-lady of the industry not only stands up for Gowariker but also gives him a clean chit for mentioning her in his pro-Aishwarya speech. Reluctant to speak on the matter Jaya when persuaded finally opens up. “First of all it is being presumed that Ashutosh unnecessarily mentioned my name regarding Aishwarya’s omission from the awards. The fact is, I suggested he bring up the question on stage at IIFA. We were discussing why Aishwarya has not been given any award for Jodhaa-Akbar and I suggested Ashutosh bring up the matter. So when he mentioned my name he wasn’t doing anything wrong.”

Warming up to the subject of Aishwarya’s performance in Jodhaa-Akbar Jaya says, “The entire principal cast and crew of Jodhaa-Akbar have been rightly nominated for the popular awards and have won also. I find it very strange that Aishwarya who lived her part and looked
every inch the royal Rajasthani queen in her body language and overall performance was ignored.”

The frank and ever-forthright Jaya makes it very clear she has nothing against Priyanka’s performance in Fashion.

For she must be really good in Fashion and Priyanka’s work in Dostana was certainly good and Jaya liked it. She’s undoubtedly a good actress and so no qualms of her winning the IIFA. But what was disturbing was that why Aishwarya’s fine performance was ignored.

"I think she and the Jodhaa-Akbar cinematographer Kiran Deohans richly deserved recognition for their work", said Jaya Bachchan.

Priyanka sideline Aishwarya's acting abilities

Aishwarya rarely loses her cool. But this time, she did. She is displeased with Priyanka Chopra for not acknowledging her acting prowess and simply mentioning her beauty when she received the Filmfare best actress award.

Though both the actresses have not responded well to confirm what and how much they are upset about the whole situation. But then how can two ladies accept the problems so openly. While Priyanka Chopra is riding high after winning the Filmfare best actress award for her role in Fashion, things are not brawny dory for her on another level.

Known for her usually restrained image and ever so politically correct statements, Priyanka rubbed Aishwarya Rai Bachchan the wrong way while giving her thank you speech after she received the award.

This incident followed Priyanka's fallout with once-upon-a-time good friend Abhishek Bachchan who too is upset with Priyanka for wanting to groove to the same song ('Ma da laadla' from Dostana) which he had selected for the same function.

Priyanka said that she was very happy to be nominated (Fashion, Dostana) among the likes of the beautiful Aishwarya Rai ( Jodhaa Akbar) and the talented Kajol (U, Me Aur Hum). Priyanka's euphoric statement however hasn't gone down well with Aishwarya .

Aishwarya is annoyed that Priyanka called her beautiful but said
nothing about her acting talent. An actor on condition of anonymity informed that Priyanka should have chosen her words carefully.
